Because giving up 150% open time gives all of the premium pay to those who live in base and who are willing to be crew schedulings bwitch.
In contract 2003, everyone had a shot at premium pay, with seniority determining priority. Now we have a free for all among only a certain few, with most of us locked out.
I won't argue the intent of the contract, but the result is definitely not "spreading the wealth". It amounted to nothing more than an unintended redistribution of the premium pay. .....and those of us with a life lost out.

It will take the same dedication from all of us as a group just like it happened last time. Premium pay will not return until everyone just flys their line and enjoys their time off for as long as it takes.
