I beleive FDX credits 6 hours min and 6 hours for every 24 hours gone - essentially a 4-1 trip rig. In this case FDX would probably be better for a short turn paying 6 hours to DALs 5:15 but for longer trips the DAL trip rig of 3.5-1 is better than FDX 6 hours per 24, essentially a 4-1 trip rig.

Check with your FDX buddy and see if this is correct since this was explained to while out on a bike ride and I am not 100% sure of the FDX rigs.

So to answer your question on this specific issue they are probably comparable.
