i guess it makes sense in the first sentence where he mentions this - but in the last sentence this should probably say S-CAL and S-UAL as pilot hired (off the street) now would be hired into the respective subsidiary?

further pointers on this -
- assumes no joint contract prior hiring - once (if ever) that happens i guess hiring would be technically into one company but they will probably still refer to hiring into either legacy fleet. (?)
- UAL needs to recall before they can hire off the street
