You'd have to think that it has a chance of impressing anyone to consider it a tool move. But over the years, the novelty of having a uniform mostly wears off, and you stop going to bars with white scarves (yes, we had a guy at my former airline that did this). Besides, you can't see a thing with Ray-Ban Aviators in the dark.

For full disclosure, I must be the rare pilot that likes nothing more than to come back from a trip, and "have to" pick up one of the kids. That's because when I do it, I look like a B-A M-F. The shirt hides my drooping gutt, and I'm actually giving serious thought to covering the receding hairline with the hat, but that would definitely not work. At any rate, there is usually some MILF that says "look at you, with your uniform!", and I can get over the fact that they sometimes snort as they say it. Bottom line: they want me. Well, not all of them, but the fat one in the corner does...

So it comes down to this: when I do it, I'm a B-A M-F, and when anyone else does it, they're a tool. That's how these things work. It's made more complicated by the fact a lot of us do it, all of us simultaneously B-A, M-F's, and tools. This conflict never comes to a head unless two of us do it in the same place at the same time, or, worse, some total TOTD gets jealous and puts up a picture of it on the web.

Admit it: you're just jealous this guy is doing it on your turf, during your time to uniform it up... tool.
