After the 747-400 new equipment pay fiasco in '89 when the union successfully held the aircraft hostage there is a section in the current UAL contract that uses a ratio (based on MTGW) to determine the hourly rate. And that's an issue...the 737-900 is lighter than the 757 so unless a rate is negotiated the pay will be less than the 757 although the seating is nearly identical.
