You are guaranteed 11 days off, if you are on reserve. If you live in base, and they don't call you, you essentially have a day off at home, you just can't drink a beer. I have had 6 of those this month. We do have long call reserve, which is a 12 hour call, but the company uses the long call folks first, so you will probably fly on long call. If you are on short call, you have to be within 2 hours of the airport when they call, so you won't be at home if you are a commuter. I think the most I have had off is 20 days with about 8 1/2 hours of flying for the month, but that is very rare. As a new hire, expect 06:00 or 09:00 reserve period, which will potentially have you commuting in the night before. You may get off early enough on your last day to commute home, but don't count on it. If I were you, I would consider a move in to base, if possible, but that's just me.
