Advice from an interviewer.....

The phone interview is critical. Do not do it while you're driving, or babysitting a crying child. You must be focused. Tell the caller that your hands are full or you're busy and want to give your undivided attention to the call and give them a time to call back.

It should be a five minute call, where you should be answering questions, not asking questions. You should know just about everything you need to at this point from this forum. If you ask too much, then you haven't done your homework, in their view.

Touch base with your guy doing the referal letter. The title to the referal email must match with your PAQ. That is how they are matched up. The letter is not even considered until the interview at MIA. The resume, phone interview, and test get you to MIA. The letter carries a lot more weight if you have actually flown/worked with each other.

Here are the instructions for the letter titles:

2.Use the subject line ‘Recommendation of (applicant's last name), (applicant's first name)’. For example, ‘Recommendation of Smith, John’.

3.Attach a PDF copy of the resume for the pilot you are recommending using the file name ‘(last name), (first name) RESUME’. For example, ‘Smith, John RESUME’.
