Flight examiner at my AIRSTA flew a bunch of upgrade checkrides with an expired instrument rating. His lapse in qual was caught during a semi-annual logbook review. He is one of the most thorough professionals I know, and the mistake was proof positive that bad stuff can happen to anyone (he pinned on O-5 not long after).

Unit CO nullified all qualifications this examiner provided after date of INSTX expiration. I was administratively downgraded from First Pilot to Copilot. We all had to fly another checkride and reprocess our paperwork for the qual.

Would the company need to see supporting documentation backing my claim that this was an admin error and not a performance based change in qual? If so, how and when would I present it?

Compounding the issue, our training O used white out and hand wrote the downgraded copilot qual in my logbook. Looks sketchy. Hopefully my AC designation being stamped three months after this incident gives reassurance to the reviewer.

Any advice on where and how to post the admin letter describing my change in qual would be appreciated.

Cheers,
