Lakes has a great pilot group, I know many lakes pilot and JS on you guys all the time. DV will look for anyway to screw you as he knows most of you guys are looking for the first opportunity to leave for a greener pasture. your contract has been amendable for over 3 years and it will likely be a long time before you are allowed to make a stand. The question is not what you guys will do but what the government will allow you to do. You are a small airline who wouldn't have much of an "impact" on the transportation system but at the same time you are the largest ASE operator and the vast majority of your destinations are only served by GLA. My statement about "making a statement" is that some of you come here talking big game about things that are out of your control. You as most of us is willing to make a stand, but the simple matter is we are held back by the law. Lakes has been in contract negotiations for over 3 years, RAH has been in contract negotiations for over 5, AA had been for almost 5, United is fast approaching 3 or 4 years if I remember correctly... You are not alone!
So DV tried to buy you guys by giving you a 2 dollar raise so he didn't have to give you a contract, as well as other workgroups. I am a student of the industry and I don't work at Lakes but I know a thing or two about the place. And most of your pilot group has been there less than 3 years so in essence most of you have been there since the contract became amendable
Anyway, I am not bashing Lakers, that's a road you have chosen, it works for some and fails for other... Good luck and I hope it works out. Your survived the ballon payment, we shall see how DV plays your contract as the next payment comes up and the 1900's maintenance adds up in CYS.
First off, Lakes settled it's debt with Raytheon almost a year ago and they no longer have a vested interest in the company, so you might want to check your facts on that!
Keeping it classy I see, coming on here and bashing the company and pilot group, yet you jumpseat on us, clearly meaning you rely on us to get you from point A to point B. By the posts you have posted on here, it seems you would rather see pilots go elsewhere and in turn would rather see the company shut down and all of our pilots out of a job. If that is the case, you might want to consider renting a car from now on and driving on that route that you jumpseat on, after all, if we shut down, that is the only way you could get to your destination. I'm not saying you are not welcome on my flight and on my jumpseat, I am just saying consider the implications if you had it your way and Lakes ceased operations tomorrow!
