That sucks, I have jumpseated from the US to Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia dozens of times and never once have I ever paid taxes departing the US. It's always departing the foreign country where I have had to pay the taxes!

That said, to the OP, the taxes I pay out of Canada (from YVR) is around $50 bucks, but as other as pointed out, you will pay them either way!
