johnso29, that is not correct. The end of month check is paid as half the reserve guarantee for that month, and is an "advance" only in that it is pay for flight in that month that will finally be paid in full on the 15th of the next month.
For example: Your Sep flying will be paid on Sep 30th and Oct 15th. On the first check, you get the first XX hours (equal to half the reserve guarantee) and on Oct 15th you get whatever else you are owed (plus per diem).
The Sep 30 check was much lower, because reserve guarantees in Sep went way down compared to the summer months.
