An interesting observation I have made of the airline pilot group in general. Even though OUR profession is quickly eroding to the category of an average pay "hobby", most pilots find it difficult to get off their a$$ and do something to reverse the trend. Most find it easier to just say "NO it cant be done". Or the "law" will not allow it. Much easier, and less hassle, to convince yourself and others that one cannot fix that which is meant to be broken, than to take a proactive role in securing the much needed changes to ensure a livable future...
If the current system is broken, then one must fix it!!
If you're happy with substandard wages/benefits, loss of retirement, outsourcing, impending cabotage, and stagnation then carry on, nothing to see here...
After all some folks still believe that flying an AC is still a neat hobby.....
