A few years back while flying out of Moscow we had a few days sitting in Makhachkala, which was close to where the Ekranoplan is now stored. We talked ($$$)our handler into driving us down to see it. What an amazing plane sad to see it sitting like this and rotting. It would surely make for a nice yacht. During my 3 years flying out of Moscow I was also able to spend 2 days walking around the Russian Air force Museum that is just outside Moscow they have kept almost one of everything they ever built or developed unfortunately same as the Ekranoplan the displays are not taken care of like we do in the US at our museums. Well most of them anyways.
