For what it is worth I have done both p90x and insanity. I tried p90 just to change my workouts as I was in a rut doing the same thing too many times. p90x was great and I liked the results. I then did insanity and liked it as well. Now I have combined the two and really like the way that works out. You can do either on the road.
That's kind of what I've done. Mix them up and do the one that suits where I'm at or what facilities are at my disposal. Or if I haven't been able to get in specific workouts, doing the full body or core workouts to try and get SOMETHING in.
Everybody's results will be different, but to repeat what I said earlier, you DON'T need a gym to get results from P90X, I did it with the bands the entire time. You just HAVE TO ACTUALLY DO IT!!!!!!! Or whatever workout program one chooses.
When I was done with P90X I went from a 33" waist to 31" inches and put on 4lbs.
