2Loud has a point. If you think of it. AS is going to be all 800 (157 seats)/900 by 2017. With Horizon with 48 Q400 with 76 seats and SkyWest flying 5 RJ 700 70 seats. There is going to be a huge hole a/c with capacity 157-76=81 seats between the Q and 738. Who will plug that hole?

Therein lies the breakdown in negotiations we're setup for. The company is going to reject our scope proposal. Their counter offer will be equally ineffective scope protection in exchange for a raise and
promised continued growth.
I can hear it now: If you want this big Boeing order to come through, you'll have to allow SkyWest to fly the Bombardier CSeries for us. It isn't economical for Alaska Airlines to operate a small fleet of smaller aircraft. Before you know it, our management will be on the RFP-whipsaw-the-regionals crack and SkyWest will have as many eskimo tails as mainline.
