It was because SUX4U seemed unhappy with the impact of the Lynx pilots on his seniority.

The equivalent for you would be if you were 420 on the list previously, and had the 846 pilots placed ahead of you, except it wouldn't be the same because those 846 would have come from a position that paid 30-50% less than you were paid.

Someone with that level of "dues paying" would be the rarity here. Most had 1000+ hours of PIC. I had pilots placed ahead of me on the IMSL that wouldn't have even qualified for the interview when I applied a decade ago.
