Porter Airlines on the Island doesn't charge a thing at this point. A loophole in the Canadian tax code allows for one seat only to go untaxed per flight. This why Porter doesn't charge to ride. The downside is that they allow only one jump seater per flight no matter how wide open the flight is. There is no distinction between Sky Muffin or Pilot in their eyes, first come first serve. You must pre-list on their website (
www.flyporter.com/jumpseat) and work for an airline on their reciprocal agreement list.
They've been great to me as I do a trans-border commute myself, I live ten minutes north of the Island. Just a note however, if Porter is unable to get in at CYTZ due to weather and buses people to Pearson, you will NOT ride that day. Plan accordingly.
They do have a dedicated phone number for J/S listing, but plan on phasing it out shortly.
