I am just over 1800 seniority wise, and solely based on retirements I will upgrade about 2027.. that's unrealistic as there are aircraft orders, but still something to think about for those who come in at the 2300 mark. I am early 40s and will end up topping out at about the 500 seniority mark at retirement(same qualifications.)
If your current job stinks this could be better.. if you can hang out building PIC and get on at United, Delta, SWA, Fedex or UPS in the next 2-3 years then don't waste your time.
My exit plan is in place.. if your job stinks I will let you have mine sometime next year.. good luck all.
Phil,
Even if you we're the most junior CRJ200 Capt at Skywest and figuring it took you a couple years to make that, you still make more at JBlue. Do you think that when SWA hires in 2017 you'll ever see the left seat by 65? I'll give you the latitude with a United or DAL with the potential forcast retirements, but them your're going to be starting at a seniority # of around 12,699 of 12,700. (if your "leads" and résumé are as sharp as you claim) So, good luck with your starting QOL and finding a base you don't get displaced from 5 or 6 times. But good job spreading the good times and love to the guys who have been swimming in the pool for over a year. Keep updating your résumé!!!
