Default Financial Troubles and other rumors

Ok this may start a crap throwing fest but honestly I have never heard the truth here so I figured someone may be able to add something good to this.

I have no info to back this up so when people (LASA Lifers) say this with such confidence and strong opinion I always ask if they know for sure or if they heard it from someone else (AKA rumor).

Back when Inc. purchased Expressjet were they (Expressjet) on the verge of filing for bankruptcy protection? And I mean officially in that position. Not just losing money like everyone else during that time but legitimately broke and losing more money than any airline should?

There is so much information going around that I haven't a clue of it's merit.

I hear people talking to one another about how ASA bought Expressjet so why do they have to take their name. Then they go on about how they bought a bankrupt airline. How the airline was in bankruptcy and having serious financial troubles, so those guys (LXJT) need to just deal with the fact that we bailed them out.

Now I'm not everywhere always and I can only physically be exposed to a small percentage of the employee group that I work for. So I don't know if this is a common misunderstanding (also could be the truth) amongst everyone in the group or it's just the people I come in contact with. But they are dead-set on that belief. And again I have not clue as to how true it is so I tend to just dismiss it.

I actually had a flight attendant (was fairly new) the other day tell me she truly HATES the Legacy Expressjet people. I asked why and she said it's because they caused us to lose all of our ID-90s. She was very passionate about this. Not really sure what the heck the people of LXJT have to do with our pass benefits in the Delta system but okay.

People really need to stand back for a second and think. There needs to be a large memo that is sent out by both companies clarifying some of this stuff. Putting rumors and truth to rest. It's really got to stop.
