I actually left out the fact that I was an intern for American after my sophomore year of college, since it didn't build any flight time. A very valuable experience, nonetheles...It was unpaid, but I got to see airline life firsthand and meet some great people.

So...
The manufacturer was offering the chance to build scads of turbine multi, the airline gigs weren't.
I'd already done the airline thing.
I hadn't done the corporate thing yet.
The manufacturer internship paid very well.

I'm still very glad I did it!
