2-3 years (or something like that) AD for initial training. Then 4-6 days/month, plus some exercises each year, plus possibly getting mobilized for 90-400 days, etc.

It's your current life with a lot of extra time demands.

Regular AD wipes out your current life and gives you a new one. Simpler than guard/reserves.
