When I asked the interview panel guys they told me that if you got the job you can expect both a phone call AND a letter, if you did not get the job you were to just expect a letter. A friend who had the interview earlier said an email was sent. Perhaps I translated "letter" as meaning snail mail but could just as easily have meant electronic.
