You probably will not really ever need to argue a "3000 hour" captain. The company, or any airline for that matter, does not have the authority to lower that time. It is required for insurance purposes. Well, I guess if they want their insurance premiums to skyrocket, they could, but since they pay a 50 seat pay rate for all jets, it is kind of obvious that they are not going to do that.
