Now...I have heard of some DALPA office types who were able to drop their trips for DALPA work when they were sick/injured, vs. use up their sick leave, to extend their sick time as their sick bank would not be charged, if it was a DALPA drop instead. This is what I'm talking about, but I think it's a company issue. A line guy would run out of sick leave after about 3 months, not a year. We're supposed to be qualified to come to work, no?
At NWA we had a some walking wounded in full time positions that never used any of their sick leave. As you say, nice gig, if you can get it. I didn't know that it happened at DAL too.
