However, I did meet 2 ex-RAH guys in asia flying for airlines in China. One was making $270 clear - his airline paid his income tax. The other was making $220K 3 weeks on 3 off on an erj-135.

I've flown with FOs and Capts who have been lining up their duckies to head to Asia - China specifically. Time will tell if they pull their various triggers.

I also met an A-380 Capt who couldn't have been more than 35 years old.
At first glance, the expat gig sounds like a great deal. I know a guy that left Delta for Emirates after 16 years here; he's very happy there.

I don't think it's for everyone, though. I wouldn't want to do it. It sounds like its not for you, either. There is a lot of money to be made out there, but it comes at a price.
