I don't expect DALPA to convince me this is OK. At the very least, I'd like to see "our" union (starting at the top and all the way down through the FPL-collecting waterboys here) say something to the effect of:
"We view this as an unacceptable development. We don't like it, and we don't expect you to like it. We have the responsibility to Delta pilots (our constituents), to make sure loopholes like this are fixed. We will engage the company immediately and attempt to negotiate an LOA. If unsucessful, we will ensure the problem is fixed in the next contract."
It's called "exhibiting leadership" and "taking a stand" for those they purportedly represent.
You mean like NWA ALPA did with Alaska? Or KLM? Or UAL with Us Air? Or APA is doing with JetBlue? Oh.....wait.........
These aren't loopholes. They're written in our contract. I don't know what loopholes you're referring to. And the AS agreement is more restrictive then it was with the NW contract & the first joint contract. If we as Delta pilots could fly every single flight Delta Air Lines is associated with that would be awesome. But we can't, becuase it isn't feasible. That really isn't hard to see. Look around the industry.
