Everything about professional aviation is based on "what if". If you don't train for and think about "what if", you have no place in the front seat of an airplane of any kind.
I said that because everyone on here keeps giving the SAME what if scenario ...the infamaous "what if your captain becomes unconscious"
Like it's some movie and the young kid knows but has to land the airplane...
If captain becomes unconscious, dies, hell if he FLIES out the cockpit window, the FO would be able to land the plane without ANY problem....
I don't know what the big deal is
They train you for all that.
