It is worth noting that while the traveling public votes with their money (as little of it as possible), most of them would be unpleasantly surprised to learn about 200-hour airline pilots. Our passengers really do believe that all jet airline pilots flew F-15's, fought in one of the gulf wars against swarms of Migs, graduated from top gun, have 15,000 hours and 500 carrier traps, and beat out 50 other fighter pilots for that airline job...which presumably pays at least $250K.

I agree that it might be worth shedding some light on the reality. Who knows, if some senator sees an opportunity to rabble-rouse and get some press we see might 121 FO's required to hold an ATP.

Or we can sit back and do nothing, and wait for a smoking-hole accident with a 200 hour wonder-pilot screaming for mommy on the CVR.
