You are forgetting one thing... dispatchers have multiple flights going at any given time - you only have to worry about your flight. Thank your Dispatcher - you never know when they will really help you out.
Yeah... I'll be sure to remember that the next time I declare an emergency and they respond AFTER I've landed. The one thing I remember about dispatchers is that they are ON THE GROUND in an office. No offense, plenty work hard and deserve respect, but it ain't the same.
