Spirit is upgrading 2 FO's to Captain in Dec 2012, and planning on upgrading another 12 Captains in Jan 2013.
Based on the current 'snapshot', ie., what would happen if the bid was awarded Nov 26 2012 based on pilot's current bids:
- The last group of 12 new hires, currently in training - 11 will get ACY as their initial base, one will get LAS
- The previous class of 8 new hires (DOH ?), most of them still in training - 3 LAS, 2 ACY, 1 DFW, 2 FLL (FLL went senior, LAS junior)
- The most junior Captain will be LAS based
- The most junior CA DOH will be Oct 2007

That's great information.
How hard is it to get FLL, although I see it's senior on this list of new hires, is this often the case?
With the latest conference call, DFW was opening as a crew base, I see someone got that in this class listing, is it anticipated that DFW will be a tough base to hold or get?
Also, my plan is for the military to move me to Florida for my final retirement move. Let's say, against all odds, I got the call from Spirit and lived near FLL, but receive ACY, how is the commute when you live near one of the bases?
