I'm studying for the written right now and I can go to local flight school to take the test or go to ATP flight school on their 1 day cramp course. I assume the cramp course is designed to get you to simply just pass.

Actually...in professional aviation it is kind of expected that you will score mid-90's or better. Low 90's would be OK, but low 70's might make people wonder. Since the answers are known, there's no excuse. I doubt they would reject you based on ATP test score alone, but that might trigger some in-depth probing of 121 FAR knowledge at the interview.

Any reasonable amount of effort combined with a prep course should get you in the 90's.
