I'm studying for the written right now and I can go to local flight school to take the test or go to ATP flight school on their 1 day cramp course. I assume the cramp course is designed to get you to simply just pass.
You want as high of a score as possible but it's more important that you have it. I have a good friend I recommended who had a score in the low 80's and he was never asked about it. But it's all up to who's interviewing you and how anal they are. I used the King Schools software and after 3 days I took the test scoring a 100. I then sold it and got 90% of my money back.
