Almost every jetblue pilot is here because at the time of their hiring there was no where else to go, they lacked the proper time to apply at a major or this was the only airline that would hire them. Times have changed. If you have the knowledge that other companies are better why would you still choose a lesser one. I understand those who have no PIC but Jetblue is still attracting applicants who meet all the qualifications to apply at a major.
Overall you will be paid and protected substantially less and work much more than your peers. What's the attraction. If you are currently at a regional upgrade and get the PIC time required by other airlines. Jetblue will not provide you this.
With 150 or less retirements in the next 10 years your career progression will define stagnant.
I'm certainly not criticizing someone's decision to apply at Jetblue but I do question the rationale.
Airbus time and overwater experience on your resume looks better than being just another RJ guy. And, UAL/DAL/FEX/UPS all operate Airbus.
Not a bad stepping stone.
