Honestly no one knows. JetBlue decided to remove the requirement for a college degree and PIC. They suggested there are many FO's at Eagle who have been in a jet for 6 or 7 years and based on JetBlues retirements and expansion there isn't a lot of chance for upgrade anyhow so they will have time to learn. JetBlue has also hired many pilots with no jet time what so ever.
Without suggesting one type of experience is better than another you can clearly infer that JetBlues intent is to hire a pilot who won't soon leave for a legacy carrier.
Recently it was leaked that cape air pilots would soon have a direct pipeline to JetBlue. So now you will have a 402 pilot with ZERO jet or turbo prop sitting in the right seat of a 320.
Again it's up to the individual to decide if this is fair/safe, etc but regardless that 402 pilot will come in with the "happy to be here" mentality ensuring they won't leave anytime soon or be inclined to vote for a CBA.
