Our benefits are lacking, yes especially medical and LTD. hence my wanting a CBA. The pay as a stand alone issue is on par with the industry, however when you look at total compensation yes we are lacking, hence the desire for a CBA. However, in my second year on the 190 I am on par to make over 80k. Not great but could be worse and more than I would make at any other pax carrying operation other than the new TA at DAL. I am fortunate in that me and my family's health condition (no serious illnesses or problems) but I realize that we need better, less out of pocket medical care. I would like to a better retirement plan than the 5% out of pocket that gets you 5% matching + 8% board discretion, once again argument for a CBA. The reason the job is good is because of the pilots I have had the privilege of flying with here at JB, minus a couple of individuals. The profile of pilot that JB tends to hire makes this a good place to work. After all that is almost all of my daily exposure to the Work environment here at JB. I see constant connecting of the dots and unfounded, out of context facts slung around like monkey poop on these forums. I get that things could be better and if they don't pilots will leave in droves starting next year, however JB is a good place work not the best but good. The only way we can have any control over improving it is to vote for a CBA.
