Do you think he hauled-off and punched the window with all the force he could muster, or back-handed it? If you read into the story, a one hour delay means the inner-plastic protective lens of the window was shattered, not the two or three-ply structural piece itself. Don't get me wrong, I am not condoning this behavior in any way and would have been appalled to be sitting in the row with him, but I am trying to understand the amount of force he applied in the course of his temper tantrum.

Of course, if he was visibly distraut and agitated in the boarding lounge, and if JetBlue prevented him from boarding out of a security risk, then this would have been a different news article....
