I'm an officer's kid- so have been USAA since born. I've never had any issues with them- however have not had anything in the way of claims, either.
I had a friend that was a state farm agent look at my coverage and what they could do about a year ago- apparently the USAA rates were way better than them.
I guess mileage varies? I, like many others, don't like that they extended service to "everyone" though..
News alert!! You were the start of "everyone." Don't know if you were/are an active duty/reserve military officer, but when I joined USAA in 1969 it was Active Duty Military Officers only. Now it is every rank, Active and Reserve, former military, second generations who have never served, their kids, and anyone else who wants to join. Both of my kids have USAA and they have never been in the military. They have their kids on their auto policy and none of them have served. The risk pool has definately been diluted.
