Nothing to do with electronics, just purely safety related to hard projectiles traveling at high speed. Good luck holding onto your stuff, especially in the event of egress from the runway.
You must be talkin a hellava RTO! Worst case senerio is an Ipod to back of the head. Might sting a little but it ain't gonna kill anybody. Certainly not a good enough reason to have them put way. Maybe they should put infants under the seat for every TO/Landing.
