I think (I'm pretty sure) that you have to option to select either (whichever pays more) but I believe you MUST DECIDE BEFORE the end of the first trip.
Recommend that you can ALPA Contract Admin and gets the FACTS from them. A wrong answer might cost you some serious bucks ...
