This is what was going on at the time of the merger. Notice how odd it is that the UAL 737 fleet disappeared right in the middle of the negotiation period about 6 months before the merger was announced.
This could actually work out to be better for the UAL pilot group. We all of a sudden have more widebody aircraft by percentage.
