Purple and Brown weather departments are there to help retain reliability and to save money that's already been spent on their services. The Weather Channel only makes money when they have lots and lots of viewers. They basically have be sensationalistic. The weather segments on some local channels are worse than TWC. I remember one local news channel that had STORM WARNING in a big red box at one upper corner of the screen. It's just what they called their weather segment, had nothing to do with actual current weather. But until you were onto it, it got you to stop at their channel for at least a second!
The Weather Channel used to be great until they were bought by NBC. It used to be like MTV was when they played music. Now TWC shows everything but weather. They fired all the good meteorologists (save for Stephanie Abrams...mmm...Stephanie). I'm sorry, if your entire morning features Al Roker, you no longer can report the weather. They now show mostly documentaries on the Coast Guard. I'm sorry, but bring back Mike Siedel, Warren Madden, Nicole Mitchell, Heather Tesch, Sharon Resultan and of course, Dave Schwartz, my friend. I'm very unhappy with the new Weather Channel.
