FAs need to understand that a lot of very important stuff goes on in the cockpit and pilots are allowed up there for 2 reasons.... 1) we know whats going on and know how to stay out of the way and 2) we can be a beneficial 3rd set of eyes and ears. I know, as a jumpseater, I have on multiple occasions helped out the operating crew when I was able to.
FAs would be of no benefit and possible a severe safety problem.
FA jumpseats, on the other hand, are crappy seats in the cabin that aren't good enough for passengers but are good enough for crewmembers. Why should they go out empty if a crewmember needs a ride?
