Besides, I question the legitimacy of the claim that voting no will do anything to help the industry. Delta is coming after everyone to reduce costs, no matter how the PCL pilots vote. If they vote yes, Delta will use that new rate to set the standard for what they expect from their feeder carriers. If they vote no, then Delta will wind down Pinnacle quickly and use them as an example for everyone out there about what happens when you don't play ball. Either way, Delta will get what they want. This is inevitable until we solve the problem of regional pilots not having any real connection to their mainline carriers, and not having any portability in their careers to go elsewhere without starting over.
Pinnacle pilots should vote based on what's in their own best interests. Not based on some crazy idea that they should "take one for the team."
The only true way to do that is everyone at every regional NOT chase the jets/jobs, but simply walk away from the entire industry and do something else, then laugh when mgmt starts scratching their heads on how to start a CRJ with no pilots.
Unfortunately that has about as much chance as a national seniority list and one contract for everyone.
