Sound advice. I got my RTO back when I first started my PPL in '82. I carried it in my wallet for years and years. When I finally dug it out to start applying at places after I retired from the USAF, it was tattered and worn and barely legible. Although it was still valid, I ordered a new one and laminated it. Yeah, it was $60, but so what?

I also laminate my medicals - after I scan them into my computer. My AME uses an inkjet printer, so if it gets wet, it's toast!
