An opposite situation of this is the AirCanada-Candian merger. Canadian which had been loosing millions for years with falling apart planes were days away from going under was bought by AirCanada. Canadian's pilots should have been stapled to the bottom and have been just happy enough to have a job seeing as they would have been out of one if AC didnt buy them. But oh no they fought and fought to get date of hire. In the end the Canadian pilots hit the Lotto, they got an extremly generous ratio favoring them. AirCanada pilots lost hundreds and hundreds of numbers. While the Canadian pilots shot up the senority list. Many AC pilots loosing their captain positions so canadian FO's could upgrade and take those spots. ANd to top it off right before the merging of the lists Canadian integrated their regional pilots onto their list to further screw the AC pilots.
