Took a taxi to and from the hotel. I think I gave him $20 each way for the four of us with our bags. We stayed at the Sheraton on Canal, so we never needed a car to go anywhere else. Walked to and from the Superdome for the Sugar Bowl. Spent the rest of the time in French Quarter. The station is near the Superdome, so you could walk if you are traveling light.
The station in Memphis shares the parking lot with the police station, so parking there was relatively secure. No problems.
