There is talk about getting a bigger plane, but it is just talk at the moment. I have heard that DH8 is the first one on the list. They, believe it or not, they are including pay for even larger planes on the new contract. I think that the DH8 is possible, but won't happen for a while. I don't expect to see anything bigger than that for a looooong time, if ever.
Don't think that I am a Big Sky expert. I am not at all. I am just in ground school. I just call things as I see them.
From the schedules that I have seen for Boston, don't expect to be home when on duty.
Sorry about the mix up earlier in the thread. Knew it was one of the "connections" out of BOS.
As for bigger aircraft, the whole thing is tied up right now in the courts. Big Sky probably has no chance of seeing anything soon since even if MAIR decides to throw out the scope LOA, the Mesaba MEC would immediately apply for (and probably receive) an injunction. The court battle could take a year or more...
Of course if Big Sky is sold off, that would change the circumstances.
