As long as the Government and the eco freaks don’t screw it up by subsidizing inefficient technology the market and science will find the right alternative when gas becomes too expensive. Short term probably coal or shale oil. Very long term hydrogen.

Whoops, too late ethanol is here to stay and your tax dollars will pay for it. Along with all the poor people around the world who depend on cheap corn.
