Nope, DAL basicaly facilitated the move of the 200s to AA. It was to Everyone's benefit
Now, whether they took another look and said, "whoops". Who knows. Maybe they pulled too many seats too quickly and need more lift temporarily.... or maybe a 900 delivery is going to be later than expected. Always a possibility to pull a few 200s for a one or two year contract.
This type of thing happens a lot at DAL. Happened when they pulled the ATRs a few years ago and learned the hard way they no longer had any way to service a few stations like Hilton Head. Thus they brought in Mesaba, (actually added a DCI) and Saabs when they already had ATRs. Can't imagine that was a cheap mistake.
