Why anyone would plan on a career as a regional pilot is beyond me. The major airlines overseeing these operations certainly don't see them as a career placement opportunity so why should you?

As far as trying to plan on which carrier to go to make the best decision for you based on your requirements. 10-20 years from now you will know if you made the right decision. Ask any former Pan Am, TWA, Eastern, Piedmont, Braniff, Comair etc. pilot about airline life expectancy and he/she will give you a few points to ponder.

Good luck!
